The association aims to provide a forum for discussion of all the issues governing on-site wastewater management and specifically:
- An all-island onsite wastewater association to include all disciplines and interests.
- To provide a forum for discussion of onsite wastewater issues.
To help develop the industry positively by providing a forum for communication for policy makers, planners, council regulators, industry and researchers to present papers, to showcase products at exhibitions, to provide input into proposed policy and legislative measures affecting the industry and to provide a networking opportunity for all.
- To facilitate communication across the whole onsite wastewater management "field" (incl. industry, regulatory/advisory, training, research etc.)
- To provide a representative association to represent the interests of those involved in the area of onsite wastewater management to politicians, policy makers, farm groups, media, general public, etc.
- To link the association to a dedicated onsite trade show for industry (tank manufacturers, system manufacturers, component suppliers, distributors, pumpers, installers) to showcase products.
- To encourage increased awareness and training and to promote continuing professional development for all.
- To provide a suitable forum at national level to support the interests of the association.
- To provide a communication forum, to highlight and discuss concerns and measures affecting onsite wastewater management and environmental issues.
- To improve overall quality and professionalism by all involved in onsite wastewater.
